Nureyev Foundation workshops 2020

Thanks to our partnership with the Nureyev Foundation, the candidates and the dancers of the Choreographic Project will benefit from two workshops during the week. Those two workshops will be given by professional dancer and yoga teacher Claire Cunningham.

Claire developed her yoga and teaching practice across a twenty-five year career as a professional dancer and rehearsal director with leading companies across Europe such as Wayne McGregor: Random Dance, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Clod Ensemble, amongst others. Alongside her teaching practice Claire has produced work for Akram Khan Company, and is currently Executive Producer for Jose Agudo Dance Company.

Claire has studied many styles of yoga in India and Europe and holds a Yoga Alliance teaching qualification; a Forrest Yoga Teacher Training CET; a Japanese Bodywork certification from The European School of Shiatsu; and an MA in Contemporary Dance. She is a warm and creative yoga teacher with a deep awareness of yoga as a tool to strengthen performance potential, health and a general sense of wellbeing in such a physically demanding profession. The yoga sessions at Prix de Lausanne will include steady postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and relaxation (savasana). Although the classes are dynamic, Claire encourages a mindful approach in order to explore new physical connections.
