Results of the preselection in Uruguay

The South American preselection for Prix de Lausanne 2018 took place last week (October 4th and 5th, 2017) at the Auditorio Nacional Sodre, Montevideo (Uruguay). We wish to thank our partner the Ballet Nacional Sodre for their help with the organization of this event.

This year, 47 young dancers were candidates for this preselection. The dancers were coming from different countries of the continent such as Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina or Peru!

The jury was composed by Julio Bocca (Artistic Director of Ballet Nacional Sodre, Montevideo, Uruguay), Lidia Segni (former Director of Ballet Estable del Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires, Argentina), María Riccetto (Principal Dancer at Ballet Nacional Sodre, Montevideo, Uruguay) and Kathryn Bradney (former Principal Dancer at Béjart Ballet Lausanne).

The two teachers were Lorena Fernández (Ballet Mistress and Artistic Director Assistant at Ballet Nacional Sodre, Montevideo, Uruguay) and Martín Inthamoussu (Choreographer and Director of the Escuela Nacional de Danza Sodre, Montevideo, Uruguay).

The two winners of this preselection have been awarded an all-expense paid trip to come to Switzerland and participate in the upcoming edition of the competition next January.
