Joy Womack is an internationally acclaimed ballerina, entrepreneur, and Artistic Director, whose career has been marked by groundbreaking achievements and a commitment to advancing the art of ballet. A former Principal Dancer with the Kremlin Ballet Theatre and Universal Ballet, Joy made history as one of the first American dancers to graduate from the Bolshoi Ballet Academy and to perform as a principal dancer with the Bolshoi Ballet in Russia.
Throughout her career, Joy has graced stages worldwide, bringing classical and contemporary roles to life with her unique blend of technical prowess and expressive artistry. She is celebrated for her dedication to ballet’s traditions and her willingness to explore innovative and challenging roles, continually pushing boundaries within the classical genre.
As the Artistic Director of the Joy Womack Ballet Foundation, Joy is passionate about creating pathways for young dancers through scholarships, mentorship, and cultural exchange programs. Her foundation aims to make ballet accessible, encourage artistic growth, and foster new opportunities for dancers globally.
In addition to her performance career, Joy is dedicated to sharing her knowledge with the next generation of dancers. She teaches master classes, coaches, and serves as a juror at international ballet competitions. Joy’s work reflects her commitment to the future of ballet and her belief in the transformative power of dance.
