Tracy Inman

Tracy Inman is a native of Washington, D.C. and a graduate of the Duke Ellington School for the Arts, where he majored in the violin. He changed his artistic direction from music to dance and was awarded a scholarship to study at The Ailey School and subsequently invited by Sylvia Waters to join Ailey II.

1989, Mr. Inman was invited to join The Jamison Project and the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in 1990 by Ms. Judith Jamison. In 1999, he began teaching the Horton technique at The Ailey School. Mr. Inman was named Co-Director of The Ailey School’s Junior Division in 2001. He was appointed Associate Director of The Ailey School in 2009 and in 2010 named Co-Director of The Ailey School.

Tracy has performed the role of Tumble-Brutus in the Vienna, Austria production of CATS and the role of Alonzo in the Antwerp, Belgium production of CATS.

He was a judge for the Dream-on-Dance Competition in Verona, Italy, Ballet Stars of the 21st Century Dance Competition in Panama City, Panama, The Valentina Kozlova Ballet Competition, and as Chairman of the Jury for The Seoul International Dance Competition in Seoul South, Korea. In addition, He most recently served as choreographer for the hit Ryan Murphy FX television show POSE.
